Review: Smashbox Lip glosses

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Hoping you had an amazing Christmas and New Year, i am so pleased to be back writing this week.

I thought i would start the new year off with a review of the Smashbox on the rocks lip glosses.

These stunning looking beauties are the Christmas 2014 limited edition set. Five lip smackingly good shades that give the perfect hint of colour to your lips. To find out my " good bit " and "bad bit" thoughts keep reading till the end.

Starting with most tempting of colours this winter,

Quite aptly named "Legendary" this alluring deep red gloss couldn't have been picked for the Christmas edition more perfectly, wear alone for a slightly pigmented pout or over your best red lippy for an extra "ooh look at me lips!" either way it will look stunning on you. Legendary is a cool tone red that should be a staple piece in our makeup collection.

Reds not your colour?? no problem "Azalea" could be the colour for you.

Adoring sheer pink shade, its like your lips.....but better!! this pink gives a moisturising healthy lips look and can be worn with everyday makeup. The non-sticky formula is a winner with these glosses and lasts for 2 hours on me.

Next up is "Jewel" anything with a name like that i am instantly drawn to ( is that weird?)

Jewel is a bronze shimmer gloss, great to layer up and will go with most skin tones. The tube literally looks like it has thousands of tiny jewels ready to make your smile shine!

We are getting lighter as we go along so if you still don't fancy the above keep reading!

"Gilt" I'm not sure of the name but i am sure i love this colour! who doesn't love a shimmer nude, perfect to wear alone for a laid back casual feel or over your nude lipstick. A quick swipe is all that is needed to refresh your lips throughout the day.

Saved the best till last?!

Again I'm drawn to the name ( we have established I'm strange like that!) "Pout" pale pink almost milky in colour, it is such a pretty colour and can be applied to any lip colour for added shine and glamour.

Amazing colours and all can be worn with ease and effortless shine. Gilt and Jewel are both limited edition, so if you are wanting to try these you have to move quickly!

The good bits!

These Smashbox on the rocks lip glosses have a clear hydrating base free of traditional heavy binders, which basically means its non-sticky....Yay!!
They feel great on the lips, they are light and have a glassy gloss finish.
Being non-sticky has sold me! i am one of those long haired girlie's that always has that one strand of hair that sticks to my gloss......so attractive!
My Favorite shade: Pout

The bad bits!

Personally i am not a fan of the applicator wand, its not shaped or pliable its very straight and stick like.

This of course is down to personal preference.
This is my only dislike!

My rating:  8/10

This set costs £19.00 from Smashbox  but i have found it cheaper from Boots for £12.67

Have you tried anything from the "on the rocks" Smashbox range? i would love to know as i am thinking about getting some different items.

  1. I have tried these lip glosses but I found them flaky sometimes plus their shades are too dark and very un common. But their foundation and other products are really good.
