Primark Makeup Haul

Hi Guys!

I have a mini makeup haul from Primark on the blog today, I nipped into Primark to look for some summer dresses but as usual in Laura Jane world I picked up things i wasn't even planning on looking at - anyone else do this???
In my defence a few items were for my daughter! so if your a makeup starter wanting to try new products or build up a collection, Primark might be your best starting point! Primark has quite the P.S range on offer - i don't know why i hadn't stopped at the makeup section before!

Colour correcting sticks // jumbo pencils: £1.50 each
Colour correcting makeup seems to be everywhere at the minute, if your new to this concept its correcting any discolouration on your face before you start your makeup, for example;

Green: Neutralises redness
Yellow: Hides purple or blue
Purple: Eliminates unwanted yellow undertones
Pink: Masks signs of fatigue
Orange: Hides deep discolouration
Blue: Neutralises orange discolouration

Correcting these before applying your makeup gives you an extra flawless complexion. The green stick is used for redness, i use this around my nose. The yellow stick is for dark circles, plenty of those on my face - full time mummy and late night Netflix watcher right here!!

2 in 1 Foundation and Loose Mineral Powder £3 // £2

This clever tube of foundation has a built in concealer in the cap of the foundation. Handy to keep in your makeup bag! With a coverage of a medium to light this foundation is build-able to your preference. The concealer compliments the foundation well but if you like a high cover concealer you may want to use your own. Having said that it does do well itself. Everyone is different and wants different things from their makeup. Using the colour correcting sticks under this should do the trick.

Contour sticks // jumbo pencils £3
These contour sticks are a fab way to add definition onto your face, this set of three comes with a contour shade, bronze and highlight. I personally prefer a powder for my contour and bronzer but these little beauties are easy to use and blendable. Use a light hand and blend using a beauty blender or sponge

Velvet Matte Lipstick £2 each

I have a love hate relationship with matte lipsticks, sometimes they look Instagram worthy and other times they look like my lips are so dry they are about to drop off! These lipstick pencils have a very creamy formula which seems to glide on, they also don't seem to have a drying effect on my lips so they are keepers!

Brow Kit

The brow kit comes with everything you will need to start grooming your brows to perfection, I love to top mine with a brow gel. Small and compact these are perfect travel companions.

Foundation & concealer brush £1.50

For a mere £1.50 its worth while stocking up on their brushes, this one is perfect for applying concealer and I will use the bigger side ( foundation side ) to apply loose powder to bake away the fine lines.

Nail corrector £1.00

Such a nifty tool to have if your a little on the messy side with your nail polish - like me!
it comes with 5 nips which are shaped to easily fit around your natural nail. So now i can be as messy as i like painting my nails and then use this to remove the evidence!!

Scented candle
Sea Salt & Lavender £4
White Amber £3
I wish there was a way for you to smell how gorgeous these smell! I have been happily burning these while filming for YouTube and editing. If you follow me on snapchat you will have seen these when i brought them.

Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil

Hi Guys,

I am sure i wasn't the only one excited when i heard Benefit weree giving a vamp over, on their brow products as well as releasing new wonders to their already amazing collection! So i was double excited when i purchased Elle magazine to find they had the new Benefit Goof Proof Brow pencil inside.

According to Benefit
"Anyone can become a brow expert with this super easy brow filling & shaping pencil. Fast, full & natural-looking brows magically appear, thanks to the glide on formula, soft colour and goof-proof tip"

I love the packaging as always with Benefit!  I always feel the dying urge to never throw any of their pretty packaging away........seriously i even keep the boxes!!

This streamline pencil feels like it has been dipped into metallic silver, it's light weight and with slopped sides almost giving the pencil a triangle shape leaving it easy to hold and a comfortable grip. The lid i adore! with an art deco feel its diamond pattern gives an old Hollywood feel and a more high end look.
The end of the pencil doesn't slot into the lid so if your like me and still revert back to school days of taking lids off pens and sticking them on the ends ( i do it without noticing i am actually doing it!) it wont work, so don't try haha

The brow product is a twist up, which i personally like as i can NEVER find a sharpener when i need one! the shape of the nip is almost like a diamond/tear shape which carries on the theme of the packaging beautifully, its not the same as the push up liner by Benefit but it does remind me of it. The point allows you to easily define your brows and the wide section lets you fill them in with breeze.

The formula is harder than i was expecting, its not a soft khol formula it almost feels like wax but at the same time it is easy to blend across your brows. I love the option of using the thin point to define and swapping quickly and easily to the wider section to effortlessly fill in the rest.
Claiming to be 24 hour wear and waterproof i don't think you will be needing to top your brows with gel.

The formula was also easy to remove with a simple makeup wipe! which i was pleasantly surprised as i was thinking it may be tough to remove like their push up liner, so this is a big bonus!

Benefits brow range is due to launch later this month on the 24th June, here is the collection:

L'Oreal true match foundation

Hi Guys!
Last week I left the safety nest of my Estee Lauder double wear foundation and branched out to new horizons - shocker!!!! I am the type that settles quickly into a routine habit of using the same foundation, I am a total creature of habits. although i still firmly adore the Estee Lauder foundation at £30 a time for a bottle  I wanted to find a cheaper version as I wear foundation daily.
Introducing my pick of the bunch " L'Oreal True Match" £9.99

after swatching an embarrassing amount of foundations on the back of my hand i settled eventually on the true match, it offered skin perfecting pigments with 3 new shade enhancers for skin matching perfection as well as boasting a super bendable formula.

First impressions were a little less promising though, I applied the foundation using my real techniques buffing brush and was pleased with the result. The formula feels very light on the skin. All was looking fab and i was super pleased that i had found a new foundation love. I also love that it has a pump. However, after a few hours i noticed it had started to slip and move on my face, which i have never had before. So if you have oily skin this may not be the foundation for you.

The next day i tried again, this time using a good primer and opting for my beauty blender. It was looking better than before and my skin had a flawless finish, it also lasted throughout the day - so a good primer is needed. The foundation has a good coverage and as it has skin perfecting pigments it hides little imperfections too.

This foundation lives up to being super bendable, its easy, quick and does leave a natural radiant finish, skin looks more healthy and feels fresh. I preferred it applied with a beauty blender or sponge. It is also build-able with out looking cakey or heavy, which allows you to build up your coverage to you personal taste. Now i have found the way i like to apply it I am loving this foundation, perfect for spring/summer as it feels so lightweight on my skin yet gives me the coverage my confidence needs. My shade is Golden beige.

L'Oreal has a full range of true match products from concealers to blushers.

If you guys haven't tried this foundation yet i would certainly recommended it - I would love to know your thoughts.
